Update and Crafts

Okay so this week has been a busy week for me. I finished a bunch of crafts, took Ethan in for his 15 month appt., got no sleep, and went to the triple D ranch!!! I think I will start with little Ethan first. He now weighs 24 lbs. 8 oz., no wonder my back hurts. He has also moved up to the 85% of his height, we've been waiting for the tall gene to kick in, after all Bry and I aren't too short. The bad news is he had to get three shots plus a flu vaccine. Surprise to Kylie, but we got hers while we were there too! A ton of people think I'm a freak for getting them flu shots every year, but I just say to all of you, my kids have NEVER had the flu.(knock on wood) I know they can still get it, but why not give them any immune boost that I can! Ethan then was up the next two nights with fevers, (which is why the no sleep), but is fine now. A mix of shots, teething, and a bit of a goopy nose bit he has had. /3pkLeGXs-3c/s320 These are all the craft projects I've been working on and finished this week. I am so happy with my advent calendar. You may not think it's as great as Pottery Barn's, but I love it and so do the kids. I also did the pumpkin door hang, boo blocks, and chunky pumpkins. The reason I love decorating for holidays is because I loved it when I was a kid!! Helping my Mom put up each thing for a different holiday. It's mostly for my kids!!! Saturday we went to the Triple D ranch for Teamsters Day, and the kids had so much fun. Kylie rode her first pony, they got their faces/legs painted, and did lots of fun things. Kylie asked the clown for a purple pony on her cheek, and Ethan got "Go Byu" and a football on one leg and fish on the other. Well that's our week in a nut shell, stayed tune for our first day of Preschool!!

Blast to the Past

Okay I am doing a huge photo book for my Mom and her Brother's to give to my Grandparents for Christmas and I have been scanning old photos till my brain has gone numb!!!! I thought it was kind of fun to show a little glimpse into my life when I was a little kid. The first three photos in the slide show are what Bry and I call Ethan with a little more hair. For all those people who thinks he looks just like Bryan, I'm sorry he doesn't and I told you I had blonde hair! There are a few of my favorite pictures with my brothers, I love them so much! Hope you enjoy a little glimpse into my past

Craft Corner

Okay so I bought these a while back, and they are now done!!! I did all the base work, and my Mom did the detail seen on the Witch, T, and C. Yeah I know the W and H are mine, and not all too exciting. I have been working on a Snowman, and some other things I will show when I am done (and I'm doing those myself!) My Mom is one of the most talented people I know, and I am so lucky I can run to her when I am in need of help! I love the letters, and I love that no one will be able to exactly duplicate them. I really want to make a Halloween advent calendar (like the one from last year on Pottery Barn Kids) I think I can do it myself and make it even cuter! Hopefully I can get that started soon! If anyone wants to do craft night with me and make one let me know!!

A Changing Tide

Okay quite a bit has been changing around our house lately. First Bryan shaved his head yesterday, and now is officially bald, not just balding! It looks fine, just takes a little getting used to. Second many of you know I have been selling Layer's Clothing for over a year now. Anyway, they are implementing a few new details that won't allow me to sell for much longer. You have to have at least an average of $500 a month sales just to remain a stylist. You must accumulate this every quarter. Right now I am fine, but I am not going to push anything. In some ways I am a little relieved, it feels like the only place I have shopped for clothes over the past year is Layer's not making for a diverse closet! It was fun while it lasted, but for now no new ventures are planned in the business world for me. Bry starts school Monday, and we will begin once again never seeing him. To top it off BYU football season starts and in order for him to take the time off for the games, he has to work the Sundays around the games. I am kind of bummed because that's the only day we see him, plus I have to handle Ethan at church by my lonesome (which means standing in the hall 80% of it!) Kylie starts Pre-school September 3rd and starts dance the same week. She will be a busy girl, and I'm glad since I think she is getting a little board around here. Ethan is stuck with me all the time for awhile, but my favorite new thing he does is make car noises when he plays with his cars!!! It is really so cute, I need to get it on video for sure. He also says Moo to every animal now! The neigbor had their dog out and he began Mooing at it! Oh well, it's a start! My next task is to dye my hair dark for the fall/winter period so we'll see how soon I can get that done! Well I'm sure whoever is still reading is sick of this boring post, but for journaling purposes I needed it.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Trailer

Okay I have been waiting for this for a while. Everyone knows I love Harry Potter, and I am excited to see the movie. Can I just say that little boy is creepy, great choice for Voldemort as a child! Can't wait till November!

Car- Our new favorite word!

Ethan has really begun to start saying several words now. His new favorite is CAR! He can actually say ball even though you wouldn't know it from the video. He also likes Wha Da (what's that), Ow ool (wow cool), and Ah Oh!! He of course says Mom and Dad, but I am really excited that the communication process has begun! He especially gets so frustrated when he wants something and I can't figure out what it is. However, he now guides me on little trips (usually to the pantry) for what he is on a quest for. He is getting so big, and growing up so fast! Kylie is doing well also, she has most of her Alphabet down flat. I.E.- she can recognize the letter and can actually write most of them. She is being a little defiant when I try to get her to write her name. However, at my Mom's house she filled out a Birthday card for my little brother's girlfriend with the words "To: Tela... Love, Kylie. My Mom just told her what letters to write. So I know she is capable. She also can count to ten, and recognize most of those numbers. I can't believe she is off to pre-school in a few weeks!! Crazy!

Our Trip to the Zoo

We went to the Zoo on Monday, since Bry now has a 3 week break before Fall semester starts back up. Ethan was loving it, but Kylie a little board. Her favorite part was the Merry Go Round, she asked if there were more rides. I guess a trip to Lagoon might have been more fun for her. Otherwise, it was nice to get out as a family and do something! When we went to see the cougar, it was laying up in its cave and hard to see. We began to move on, when to my suprise I turned around and it was right next to me by the fence hissing at our red wagon! I guess they really do bleed blue! When we went a saw the leopard it came right up to Ethan at the glass, he was in aawwh! Ethan freaked out a bit on the Merry Go Round until it started then he enjoyed it. Kylie wanted to go again, but at $2 a ride for like not even a minute we had to pass. All in all we had fun, but I can't see myself racing to get back their this year!

Holt Family Pictures

Okay so over the weekend of the 26th of July was my mother in law Pam's 60th birthday. So Bryan's whole family got together for the occasion. His brother even came up from Phoenix. So while we were all together we decided to have pictures taken once again. Everyone's pictures look great, I am sorry to tell you that my family's are the worst of the bunch. I only have one good picture of Ethan (thanks John) and unfortunately I am in it obstructing his cute face! Kylie of course took some fabulous pics and are family ones are okay, but would have been better if Ethan could have smiled!!! We even took individual pics of all the adults...LOL everyones are great except mine, I looked possessed! Kari and Jill took total glamour shots, they might be on the next America's next top model! Christine's picture is gorgeous it is by far my favorite individual! I hope you all enjoy this extra long slide show and you get a little glimpse of Bry's cute little Family!
